Francisco Vazquez de Coronado was spanish conquistor who visited New Mexico and other parts of what are now the southwestern United States between 1540 and 1542. Coronado had hoped to conquer the mythical "Seven Cities of Gold"

What we saw

I remember it like no day other. One afternoon are tribe saw big and strange monsters of wood (the boats)that frome their inside, came people with rare shine clothe and some animals we had never saw in are live. They were to many people and we stared to get so scared we didnt know what to do after that.

What I saw

I got down the boat and I saw things I had never saw in spain. I look at the land around me and see big beautiful mountains, too many trees and soft brown sand. When I saw thouse lands I felt so excited and happy cause I thought that this place was one of the seven cities of gold. Sudenly! I saw more than only the new land. Some black strange people with not to much clothe very scared and curiouse about us.
How Kansas looks Today

Francisco went to many places and Kansas was one of them. When he got there for first time, it didn't have buildings, streets, electricity, cars, mall's and neither contamination like today. Kansas was a place with trees, mountains, rivers, fresh air and intead of sement there was durt and grass.
This means that Kansa has change alot seens 1540.

How he was supported

Before he stared his trip he needed people to suppored him for his trip to the knew lands and he recive many help.
Thouse people were: his 2 brothers "Diego and Juan Vazquez de coronado and some friends like: Viceroi, Antonio de Mendoza, Beatriz , Alvaro y Alonso Estrada, Lord of Picon and her wife Maria Flores Gutierrez and Marcos and Estevanico de Niza.
All of thouse people supported him but Lord of Picon, her wife and Antonio Mendoza paid everything with a total of 70,000 pesetas(spanish money).
